Prison Episodes is Pouya Pour-Amin’s meditation on political repression, defiance, endurance and hope. Structured as a series of seven episodes, the album traces the experience of a political prisoner from incarceration towards breaking point. Composed in Tehran, the work moves between harshness, sorrow and transcendence, bringing together electronic composition, double bass, violin, viola and trumpet in a powerful reflection on confinement and the political realities of our time.
