Petter Baarli - Franky My Dear, I Don't Give Damn (CD)

Petter Baarli might just be the most dedicated and hard working man in Norwegian music. For over 40 years he’s been the guitarist of legendary rockers Backstreet Girls, he plays with Valentourettes, a tribute band for the late Norwegian rock legend Joachim «Jokke» Nielsen, he’s played an important part in a very successful play based on Jokke’s songs at Norway’s National Theatre in Oslo, and there’s been several exhibitions of his paintings.

The album title «Frankly My Dear, I Don’t Give A Damn», is a  very suitable title for an artist who does everything his own way. Appearing on the album are recent and former members of Backstreet Girls and other Norwegian rockers, in additon to a number of International rock & punk legends like Honest John Plain (The Boys) Casino Steel (The Boys, Hollywood Brats) Tenpole «Ed» Tudor, Dan Baird (The Georgia Satellites), Warner E. Hodges (Jason & The Scorchers) and Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols, Rich Kids).
The result is a number of hard rocking songs, nothing fancy or modern, just plain old rock’n’roll in the spirit of Petter Baarlis inspirations Chuck Berry, Angus Young and Keith Richards.
