Minor Majority - If I Told You, You Were Beautiful

When the album was recorded in the summer of 2002, Minor Majority was a duo consisting of Pål Angelskår (vocals, guitar) and Jon Arild Stieng (guitar, bass, vocals). For the recording, they brought along singer Karen Jo Fields and violist Kathrine Benedicte Skaug, two fantastic musicians who would prove to be key guest artists on the album, contributing to six (Fields) and three (Skaug) of the 12 songs on the album, respectively. 
Halvor Høgh Winsnes (drums) and Henrik Harr Widerøe (bass, banjo vocals), who would later become permanent members of the band, also made their first appearances with Minor Majority on "If I Told You, You Were Beautiful".

The album features the song "Dancing in the Backyard", a song that would soon earn Minor Majority their first radio hit. 
"If I Told You, You Were Beautiful" was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann) in the best pop group category in 2003, and the album would become Minor Majority's lever into the European record market, where the band signed a deal with the renowned French label Vicious Circle that same year. 
In many ways, "If I Told You, You Were Beautiful" is an album that would predict the path ahead for Minor Majority and put them together with artists and musicians they would later form close ties with.
