Perspective – Best Of “The Live Sessions” from Oslo Concert House is Maria Mena’s first live album. The release date is September 25, 2026.

Its 21 tracks are drawn from four sold-out concerts in Lille sal, the smaller hall at the Oslo Concert House, in February 2026, staged to mark a double anniversary: Mena turned 40 in 2026 and at the same time celebrated 25 years as an artist.

Mena had attempted a live album before without being satisfied with the result. She has pointed to vocal confidence as the condition that made the project possible now. The song selection spans her entire catalog, from her 2002 debut to the present day.

The album title reflects the premise of the release. Where a compilation usually sums up a career, this is rather a record about how the songs have changed for the person who wrote them. “The songs may be the same, but the words mean something else now,” as she has put it herself. The material is largely honest and autobiographical, written at a young age.

The first single from the live album was “My Lullaby,” Mena's 2002 debut. She wrote it at the age of eleven, about her parents’ divorce. In the live version it is performed by an artist who has since become a mother herself.

The concerts were also filmed. The album is available digitally and as a double LP with photography by Pål Laukli. In the fall of 2026, the release is followed by her largest Norwegian tour to date.
