Highasakite - Uranium Heart

After an eagerly anticipated wait, Highasakite release their 3rd full album Uranium Heart via Propeller Recordings. This album sees a return to the origins for the Oslo-based duo consisting of Ingrid Helene Håvik and Trond Bersu. With vocalist, composer and writer Håvik at the helm, and Bersu stepping into the role of producer, Uranium Heart visits the humble beginnings from which the band was first formed in 2010.  Featuring the lush open soundscapes on first single ‘Out Of Order’ to the comedown anthem ‘I Call Bullshit’ and to latest single ‘Mexico’, a track that showcases the incredible soaring vocal of Havik over a signature Highasakite anthem.

Uranium Heart is the ‘most Highasakite record’ yet. A process started soon after the touring cycle for 2016’s Camp Echo, Ingrid explains, “We started to record Uranium Heart early in 2017. The songwriting is a continuous process with some old songs and some brand new. It has been a long process of trying to find songs I am truly happy with, and to write them without trying to fulfil every criteria on how to make a good pop record. The aim was to be able to write without other people’s wishes in the back of my mind and daring to follow your own vision and taste. It’s a hard process when so many people are relating to music as some sort of a commission.”

Previous singles from the campaign have already seen an enormous success, ‘Elastic State Of Mind’ has sat for 3 weeks at the top of the Norwegian radio charts and ‘Out Of Order' achieved Norwegian Top 40 Official Singles Chart (NO), Top 30 Spotify Chart (NO).

New music joins Highasakite’s breakthrough LP ‘Silent Treatment’ (2014) – which broke the record for longest consecutive run in Norwegian chart history with more than two years in the Top 40 – and #1 Charting successor ‘Camp Echo’ (2016). The band’s collective catalogue tallies more than 100 million streams, with Håvik’s alternative approach to pop writing earning multiple Norwegian Grammy Awards and widespread acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, NME, MOJO, The Guardian and Vogue.
