After graduating from high school in 1997, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has been writing songs since he was 14-15 years old.\u003cbr\u003eHis musical career began when he became the drummer and songwriter for the band Midnight Evils, which released two albums, Straight Til the Morning (2003) and Breakin´ it Down (2005). The band did a session for legendary John Peel's radio show on the BBC in 2004.\u003cbr\u003eIn 2005, he formed the garage-soul big band Chooglin´, where he was lead guitarist, singer, songwriter and arranger.\u003cbr\u003eThe band had just released their third album, Sweet Time, on Fat Possum's sub-label Big Legal Mess when they were \"discovered\" by Norwegian music journalist Øyvind Pharo at a festival in Minneapolis Minnesota. This led to the band playing at Down on the Farm in Halden in 2009 and Bergenfest in 2010. Tomlinson moved to Halden in the summer of 2012 and became the father of a son in 2013. From 2021 and for a period he was the bar manager at Halden's mythical rock bar, Siste Reis, and at the same time he fronted the band Good Time BBQ Blues Band as a guitarist, singer and songwriter.  The band includes members from the punk band Göttemia and Laurits Mosseby Orchestra.\u003cbr\u003eIn 2024, Jesse recorded the album titled Shit\/ Shinola with Laurits Mosseby and multi-instrumentalist\/producer Freddy Holm. Jesse's solo debut album. A collection of songs, many of which are about the experiences one can have if one suddenly finds oneself far from home. Some thought that the album should be titled A darker Shade of Black.\u003cbr\u003eMusic that has been described in the following way: \"The spirit of Robert Johnson and Hank Williams' alter ego, Luke the Drifter, marinated in Captain Beefheart and Violent Femmes, catapulted into the new century!\".\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"EMMO","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42506039066718,"sku":"NEWLP16","price":399.0,"currency_code":"NOK","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0589\/6752\/3422\/files\/NEWCD16.jpg?v=1772619433","url":"https:\/\/emmo.no\/products\/jesse-tomlinson-shit-shinola-kopi","provider":"EMMO","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
